"Hear No Evil…" was shown in the Chapter House which was designed as a place to speak and to hear. The proverb Hear No Evil, See No Evil, Speak no Evil is pressingly relevant today as we sometimes struggle to acknowledge the climate crisis, to hear or to speak about it, for fear of disturbing ‘business as usual’. Pleasurable consumer culture distractions catch our intention instead, even as they fuel the very crisis we shy from. The sculptures’ hollow and fragmented bodies reflect this agonised state.
